Challenges of resource mobilization and transparency in humanitarian operations
Challenges of resource mobilization and transparency in humanitarian operations and new FTS launch
Session Outcomes• Transparency and strategic decision making based on finite resources is more essential than ever as humanitarian needs and requirements continue to grow--the 2017 GHO is the largest funding appeal ever.
• FTS launched a redesigned data platform that can meet the financial tracking needs of the increasingly complex humanitarian system, and which now has the technical capability to track Grand Bargain commitments, such as localization, cash programming, multi-year funding, management costs, and earmarking.
• FTS will remain an essential service for providing globally comparable funding data regarding the allocation and usage of humanitarian aid flows.

Steps to Implementing Solutions• Increase FTS outreach efforts and partnerships to ensure a more holistic view of humanitarian aid flows.
• Provide training on the new FTS capabilities to reduce reporting barriers and encourage regular, accurate, timely, and comprehensive reporting.
