Earthquake (7.2M,depth:10km) in Philippines at 4/28/2017 0423hrs local time
Situation overview
According to Local Philippines Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), the magnitude of 7.3 tectonic in nature Earthquake occurred at 4.23 am this morning. It has a depth of 87Km (05.4N, 125.32E or 31km N80W of Sarangani Province. The nearest areas recorded intensity 5 include; Davao Occidental General Santos City, and Koronadal which are expecting aftershocks. So far no reported damages. Other areas with recorded intensity are Cotabato – 4.2, Davao city and Zamboanga city magnitude 4. Office of Civil Defence (OCD) of regional 12 is gathering information. The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management officers in the area are monitoring the situation. Initial reports from OCD are people along the costal region in Sarangani region have started to evacuate to higher grounds. As of this hour no damages have been reported.
