Capacity for Disaster Reduction Initiative (CADRI)
    
The CADRI Partnership is a UN led partnership composed of 18 partners, including 13 UN agencies, GNDR, IFRC, WB GFDRR and OECD. CADRI has been providing supports to countries - governments and UNCTs- with an effective and cost efficient mechanism to mobilize and pool expertise from various parts of the UN System and outside the UN to supplement in-country capacities in disaster risk reduction.

CADRI offers a wide range of services to countries such as: Facilitation of diagnostic review of DRM systems; Facilitation of multisectoral contingency plans. The offer of services is flexible and adaptable to different country contexts. The CADRI country engagement can span from 6 to 18 months depending on the scope of the government request.

The CADRI assessment and planning tool is a tested methodology to build a momentum for reform and lay the foundation for coherent programmatic support in DRR across sectors. Ten sector assessment tools ranging from agriculture to health to infrastructure can assist the government assess DRM capacities across socio economic sectors at national and local level. The CADRI capacity development approach has been tested and rolled out in 30 countries in Africa, Central Europe CIS, Middle East and Latin America.
