Global Alliance for Urban Crises
  
The Global Alliance for Urban Crises was launched during the World Humanitarian Summit in May 2016. Inspired by the commitments outlined within the Urban Crises Charter, the Alliance is a global, multi-disciplinary and collaborative community of practice, seeking to change practice on the ground and provide a platform to share current evidence and knowledge across members, whilst reaching out to new stakeholders active in urban crises.
As a part of this endeavour, the Global Alliance, with the support of ECHO, has developed an series of products to inform diverse stakeholders to effectively engage in urban crises.
Including:
  • A framework of engagement between local governments and the humanitarian sectors
  • Guidance note on Profiling in urban areas
  • The development of an Urban competency framework
  • Research products focused on: Unpacking the difference approaches to urban protracted displacement; Building resilience in the aftermath of urban crises
Alliance events of the course of HNPW2019 will include members-only discussions and an open launch event to share the above mentioned alliance products.
