Floods in Afghanistan, Iran and Iraq
 Situation overview
Iran Floods Update (DG ECHO, Iranian Red Crescent, media) as 9 April:

Severe flooding in several provinces of Iran since mid-March, has left 70 people dead. 110 000 are displaced, 30 000 in Khuzestan Province. As of 9 April at 8.00 UTC, 1 900 cities have been affected, with Lorestan, Khuzestan and Golestan the worst impacted provinces. 77 schools have been destroyed (55 in Lorestan and 22 in Golestan).
There is a significant risk of additional flooding from Karkheh dam (Khuzestan Province). Six cities and 210 villages have been evacuated, 61 of which have been flooded.
Heavy rain and thunderstorms are forecast in southern provinces, moderate rain in north-western provinces.

An official request for assistance was issued by the Iranian authorities on 8 April through the European Union's Civil Protection Mechanism, consisting of health, water and sanitation, shelte, non-food items and rescue equipment.
The European Commission announced an initial amount of EUR 1.2 million in response to the floods.


Iraq - Flood (DG ECHO, WHO, IRCS, NOAA) as 9 April:

Recent flooding along the Tigris Rive has resulted in the diplacement of 545 families in Maysan Governorate, with a further 2 000 families at risk folloowing reported damage to a small number of IDP camps.
The Iraqi Red Crescent Society (IRCS) reports that heavy rain caused damage to more than 60 families after the villages of Huweder, Dawai, and Shafta (Diyala Governorate) were flooded. Food parcels have been distributed to at least 270 families affected in Salah al-Din Governorate.
For the next five days, moderate to heavy rainfall is forecast over the south-eastern governorates of Iraq.

The response is being managed by civil defense teams and NGOs. Contingency planning and preparedness measures had been put in place after earlier flooding episodes. Governmental crisis cells have been activated in both federal Iraq and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.

6. Solo equipment for rescuers including shoes, gourmet dresses, whistles and sets of SOS,

8. Special equipment for rescuers in the flood,

10- Water pump,
11. Heavy equipment for dealing with flood,
12- Wind and motor boats
