Risk-informed Early Action Partnership (REAP)
The Risk-informed Early Action Partnership (REAP) was launched at the United Nations Climate Action Summit in September 2019. At the launch, there were 33 partners across governments, UN agencies and organisations. This is a new open global partnership convening the humanitarian, development and climate communities, drawing on data, evidence and best practice to drive up and unify standards and increase targets for forecast-based action and investment. By bringing together partners working on climate risk, early warning, and anticipatory and early action, and focusing on the communities most at risk from climate shocks, this Partnership will drive a systemic shift towards anticipatory action that will save lives and protect livelihoods now and in the future.

The overarching goal is to make one billion people safer from disasters by creating a new partnership to greatly expand early action financing and improve early warning systems and the capacity to act on the risks they identify. Ultimately saving lives, protecting livelihoods and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the response.

The partnership is open to new members, to find out how to contribute, please contact the REAP Secretariat hosted at Tessa Kelly (IFRC), Jon Stone Head of Secretariat, or Helen Bye.
