Tropical Cyclone Harold
 Situation overview
TC Harold made landfall on the island of Espiritu Santo in Vanuatu, as a Cat 5 on 6 April. Followingly, on 7 -8 April, the Cyclone passed by the islands of Fiji as a Cat 4 causing power outages, blocked roads due to fallen trees, and widespread flooding.

Vanuatu government and Fiji government are currently conducting initial damage assessments and needs assessments.

OCHA/ERS, as well as the OCHA Regional Office for Pacific in Fiji (OoP) and Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (ROAP) in Thailand are ready to support, if needed. Due to the on-going COVID-19 related travel restrictions, provision of remote support is envisaged.


OoP is in close communication with the Governments and humanitarian partners in the Pacific region.
