Starting as you mean to go on: the importance of learning from the beginning of your career in the humanitarian sector
Taking place in: Salle 13 Are you in the early stages of your humanitarian career? Are you brand new to the humanitarian sector or looking for your first role? Are you interested in improving the performance of humanitarian action? If you answered yes to any of the above, come to this session designed specifically for people starting out in humanitarian work. In this session we will discuss the importance of using learning and evidence to maximise your positive impact on the sector throughout your career, and provide pointers to where you can go to start your learning journey. Who are we? ALNAP is a global network of NGOs, UN agencies, members of the Red Cross/Crescent Movement, donors, academics, networks and consultants dedicated to learning how to improve response to humanitarian crises. We believe that by improving the quality, availability and use of knowledge and evidence from previous responses, we can make the system perform better and be more accountable. To do this, we facilitate learning between our Network Members, host the largest library of evaluations of humanitarian action, carry out original research and host events and conferences. |
