Cash and goods, linking or replacing in-kind assistance.

In this session we will discuss, based on the Academy of Finland funded “Cash and/or Carry” research project run at the HUMLOG Institute, conditions when cash assistance has advantage over in-kind, as well as conditions that should be met for its implementation. However, we will also look at contexts where in-kind support should be maintained and optimised, including management of small in-kind donations. The session will be in the form of panel discussion with time reserved to include questions and comments from participants. The key focus will be on assistance in conflict zones, Syria and Ukraine.
