Session title: Health and Protection Joint Operational Framework - Working Together to Improve Health and Protection Outcomes
20 Apr 23 14:00-15:30

SessionAbstract

Recognizing the need to move away from siloed approaches to meet the needs of populations affected by crisis and to ensure individuals including those at risk are able to fully claim their rights and access quality services regardless of their situation or vulnerabilities a Joint Operational Framework has been developed by the Global Health Cluster, Global Protection Cluster including Child Protection, Gender-based Violence, and Mine Action Areas of Responsibility (AoRs), the Inter-Agency Standing Committee Reference Group on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support in Emergency Settings (IASC MHPSS RG), and the Inter-Agency Working Group for Reproductive Health in Crisis (IAWG).

The framework serves as an entry point to improve strategic and operational ways of working for health and protection actors before, during and after a humanitarian emergency, and helps to highlight joint ways of working and actions that need to be taken.

During the session, key speakers from the different clusters will present the framework, how it will be taken forward and there will be an opportunity for partners and participants to ask and discuss how it would relate their work.
