SessionAbstract

This session focuses on enhancing humanitarian outcomes by promoting equity, inclusion, and protection through the application of the Protection, Gender and Inclusion (PGI) in Anticipatory Action Guide (AA) and Toolkit. Developed collaboratively by leading humanitarian organizations, agencies and networks – including Plan International, IFRC, UNICEF, Start Network, UNFPA, Practical Action, Anticipation Hub - the toolkit equips practitioners with the guidance and tools necessary to mainstream and integrate PGI principles—dignity, access, participation, and safety—into anticipatory action.

Participants will explore practical methodologies for integrating PGI considerations into AA planning, implementation, and monitoring. The session will also highlight solutions to address critical gaps, such as limited disaggregated data, challenges in financing PGI-responsive interventions, and capacity constraints.

By fostering collaboration among humanitarian actors, the session contributes to building resilient, inclusive communities and advancing transformative practices in anticipatory action.
