In 2025, UNDP, IOM and UNHCR have take n on new leadership in the UN system in terms of supporting governments on solutions to internal displacement.
Aimed at institutionalizing key changes for the UN to provide more coherent support to governments , the “ troika ” arrangement s offer a critical new f ormula to bring together humanitarian and development partners from Day 1 under Resident Coordinator leadership to work on both short-term humanitarian action and consider medium to longer-term planning on solutions to internal displacement .
This session will focus on how these key changes are being implemented in - line with the Secretary-General's Action Agenda on Internal Displacement a nd perspectives of supporting government-led, development anchored solutions hearing from UN, member states and development financing partners .

The Benue government has recently launched its State Solutions Strategy on Displacement with a significant focus on the need mitigate the impacts of climate change to find sustainable solutions to internal displacement. What are the proactive steps being taken by state authorities and what support is needed to ensure these investments are scaled up? His Excellency, Hon. Reverand Fr.
