For over a decade, Kontur has been building and refining solutions that help communities prepare for and respond to disasters. One of our most notable collaborations is with the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team (HOT), where we created Disaster Ninja—a tool that supports real-time disaster tracking and coordination, all while improving OpenStreetMap's coverage. More recently, we launched Kontur Atlas, a platform that layers multiple data sources onto a global hexagonal grid and calculates a "score" for each cell. By doing so, it provides a powerful way to analyze risk and vulnerabilities.

During this session, we'll walk you through how Kontur pulls in various data streams to gauge hazard exposure, identify potential vulnerabilities, and—using Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA)—distill everything into actionable insights. We'll also highlight how these findings can benefit local authorities, offering a clearer view of both risks and response strategies. Whether it's earthquakes, floods, or other hazards, our mission is to help communities stay prepared and respond effectively when every second counts.
