Session title: Empowering Youth in Humanitarian Action: Digital Innovation for Youth Engagement in Humanitarian Careers & Environmental Training
Organizer(s): Global Youth Philanthropy, USSG
25 Mar 25 11:00-12:30   (Salle Lausanne)

SessionAbstract

Organized by USSG and Boston Global Youth Philanthropy (GYP), this session brings together youth leaders and next-generation humanitarians to explore opportunities and pathways for youth engagement in humanitarian fields, as well as the transformative role of digital tools in environmental training within humanitarian action. By fostering knowledge exchange and collaboration, this session aims to empower young changemakers with the skills and resources needed to contribute effectively to global humanitarian efforts.

The session highlights key findings from the GYP Youth Humanitarian Navigator, a research project that examines opportunities for youth in humanitarian fields, including roles within UN agencies, international non-profits, and local organizations. Through real-world insights and innovative case studies, participants will gain a deeper understanding of how digital tools—such as AI-driven environmental monitoring, virtual training platforms, and data-driven decision-making—can enhance environmental training and response efforts.

By showcasing youth-led initiatives and best practices, this session seeks to inspire and equip the next generation of humanitarians to drive meaningful change. Join us for an engaging and forward-thinking dialogue on shaping the future of youth-led humanitarian initiatives through digital innovation and environmental stewardship.
