This session is taking stock of the recent development in the use of satellite imagery analysis with key stakeholders that apply them in their operations on-site or remote. Ubiquitous remote sensing data and novel applications shaped rapid assessment of the humanitarian context and is able to predict and respond to environmental challenges caused by conflict and increasingly, climate change as a compounding factor. This data is supporting efficient clean-up and remediation efforts, while also driving international policy debate.  The session will have speakers that will provide lessons learned from conflict settings such as Ukraine, Gaza and Syria that demonstrate the utility of remote sensing, and discuss future challenges and technological opportunities, in particular in the field of collaboration, data sharing and local capacity building.
