Ensuring access to health care through community support and better security risk management for hospitals in the DRC

The panel will discuss learning from an operational approach to analysing the risk, and assessing the impact of, an attack against the health system on health service delivery, staff and affected communities. Experts from University of Bukavu, Oxfam, Mercy Corps, Insecurity Insight and IRC will share their experiences and research findings. The session is organized in collaboration with the Researching the Impact of Healthcare Research Project (RIAH). While the discussion focuses on the situation in DRC, the findings can be relevant to other countries facing similar violations of the right to health.
