SessionAbstract

This session will ask critical questions about how supporting communities to secure their housing, land and property rights by recording tenure before disaster or conflict can significantly improve protection outcomes for affected people.

Through case studies and open discussion, we will explore:

- Cost-benefit of tenure recording before disaster --> why is it important for humanitarians?
- Tenure recording as preparedness in contexts with cyclical disasters --> getting people as secure as possible in tenure in anticipation of disaster events
- Clarify what humanitarians mean when talking about anticipatory actions
- Financing HLP preparedness actions
