SessionAbstract

The WMO Coordination Mechanism (WCM) provides weather, water, climate information and expert advice from the WMO community to the UN and humanitarian agencies to scale up anticipatory action ahead of a potential disaster.

The purpose of the WCM is to advance Anticipatory Action and Crisis Support by providing a platform to leverage the collective strength of the WMO community, delivering timely, accurate, and actionable advice to the UN and humanitarian agencies.

Members of the WCM invite practitioners to a scenario-based exercise to improve coordination between humanitarian and development partners for an effective exchange of information tailored to the users who have to take adequate early actions to protect people and their livelihoods.
