SessionAbstract

The Humanitarian Practice Network will be publishing the 84th edition of the Humanitarian Exchange magazine in late March/early April 2024 on the topic of climate change, conflict and displacement. In this edition, authors from local, national and international organisations will share and critically reflect on their experiences, initiatives they've been involved in and their perspectives on this theme. Some of the articles to be included focus on using the international human rights system to address the climate emergency; climate (im)mobility and gender in Kenya; climate, conflict and the need for localisation in Nigeria; anticipatory action for displaced person's resilience; and climate change adaptation in Afghanistan. The remote session at HPNW will give some of these authors an opportunity and platform to share these experiences verbally, with a wider audience. In particular, by hosting a remote session, authors who are unable to attend the in-person event in Geneva - especially those who are unable to do so because of visa restrictions - will have the opportunity to participate in the event and network with other humanitarians around the world.
