SessionAbstract

Since the release of ChatGPT, humanitarian actors have increasingly sought to identify ways in which to deploy AI, including generative AI, to broaden and/or deepen their impact. Whilst the promise and potential of AI have been well-documented, key questions for humanitarian actors related to data, humanitarian principles, the localisation agenda, and accountability to affected populations remain unresolved. This session offers participants the opportunity to dig into the pitfalls and potential related to AI and identify key actions agencies can take to enable the safe and ethical uptake of AI for humanitarian action.
