SessionAbstract

In a landscape marked by complex emergencies and evolving challenges, effective Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) is crucial, particularly in regions like Afghanistan. This session, titled 'Advancing Disaster Risk Reduction in Afghanistan: Insight into HSDC and RPDC Initiatives by iMMAP Inc.', aims to shed light on innovative approaches to DRR through the utilization of advanced information management tools.

We will delve into the Humanitarian Spatial Data Center (HSDC), a cutting-edge geospatial platform developed by iMMAP Inc. The HSDC serves as a pivotal resource in providing comprehensive DRR data and other baseline information essential for informed decision-making in humanitarian efforts. Attendees will gain insights into how this platform facilitates strategic planning, impact analysis, and enhances collaboration among NGOs and other humanitarian actors.

Complementing the geospatial insights of HSDC, the session will also explore the Remote Primary Data Collection (RPDC) methodology employed by iMMAP Inc. in Afghanistan. RPDC plays a vital role in gathering real-time, on-ground data, crucial for tailoring humanitarian interventions to the dynamic needs of vulnerable populations. We will present case studies and success stories demonstrating the efficacy of RPDC in enhancing response coordination and informed decision-making within the humanitarian clusters and working groups.

This session is not just a presentation of tools but a discourse on the integration of technological innovation with humanitarian principles. It aims to showcase how iMMAP Inc.’s initiatives in HSDC and RPDC are redefining the landscape of DRR in Afghanistan. Through interactive demonstrations and discussions, we invite participants to explore these innovative approaches and consider their application in various humanitarian contexts.

Join us to understand how these pioneering initiatives by iMMAP Inc. are contributing to a more resilient and responsive humanitarian ecosystem in Afghanistan, setting a precedent for DRR efforts globally.
