SessionAbstract

There is a growing focus on “innovative financing” in the humanitarian sector. The Grand Bargain has successfully launched an Innovative Finance Community of Practice. Courses on humanitarian innovative finance have never had so much demand. Clearly we are far from realizing the potential of Innovative Finance in fragile and conflict affected contexts – but what really is the potential especially for local and national NGOs (L/NNGOs)? How can L/NNGOs successfully diversify their financing sources? How can new innovative forms of funding, including crypto currency and block chain support L/NNGO actions? What can donors or international actors do to help scale these needed transformations.
