SessionAbstract

This session spotlights locally-led resilience at the country-level – with one country case study – to unpack what it actually takes to advance locally led and long-term resilience in humanitarian contexts. Bringing together national and local government, NGOs, UN actors, donors, and the private sector, the panel discussion will examine the enabling conditions for recovery, self-sufficiency, and community resilience – including governance at sub-national level, financing mechanisms, coordination, and partnerships. The session will move beyond high-level commitments to identify practical ingredients that have supported resilience-building on the ground, what has constrained progress, and what different actors need to do differently to sustain momentum. The country experience will be positioned within broader reset and localization agendas, offering transferable lessons for other contexts undergoing transition, and defining what’s needed for enabling impact.
