Session title: Scaling up CADRI services to reach the Sendai Targets
25 Apr 23 11:00-12:30   (Salle 1)

SessionAbstract

The CADRI Partnership is a UN-IFRC-led global initiative providing countries with a unique mechanism to pool and mobilize expertise within and outside the UN system in Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Climate Change Adaptation (CCA). The partnership has seen a growing demand from countries seeking to use this cooperation mechanism in recent years. Partners at global, regional, and national levels strive to respond to this demand. However, more technical and financial support is required to deliver capacity development services aiming at reducing the impact of disaster and climate change impact on the most vulnerable and marginalized population groups.

This event seeks to inform relevant stakeholders on the actions CADRI Partners plan to develop this year and explore opportunities how the broader humanitarian and development community could contribute to and support their implementation.

In addition, as 2023 marks the last year of the current CADRI Joint Programme phase (2019-2023), the event will be an opportunity to discuss opportunities and challenges to consolidate and enhance the CADRI business model. The outcomes of this session will inform the next phase development seeking to consolidate and improve the CADRI Partners’ capabilities to more effectively and efficiently respond to countries' increasing demand for support.
